April Roundup: Remembering What Lasts

We’re all in the same boat.

Perhaps someone can tell me what day it is because I have clearly lost track and I’m actually okay with it.

This new routine is keeping things interesting, to say the least. For my family, this time of social distance has forced us to slow down and take stock of our lives.

We’ve had to make some changes in our day-to-day schedules as my husband and I are both working from home and caring for our little preschooler.

Thankfully, spring is here and the sun is welcoming us into its warmth! It’s amazing what a change in weather can do to our emotional states.

Here are some of the things we’ve learned from working at home thus far:

  1. We both enjoy our jobs!

  2. We definitely like to eat snacks. Little kids would eat snacks all day if they had the choice. No meals, just raisins and cheese sticks.

  3. I’ve enjoyed finding new music genres to listen to while I work.

  4. Our child really likes to type made up words on my computer.

  5. I really like when our Collie dog lays under my desk and keeps my feet warm.

I would be lying if I said there are some days where I’m not sure I can do this routine much longer, but then I remember that there is a momma Robin building a nest in the front yard and the asparagus is waking up from it’s winter rest.

The best thing we can do right now is slow down, reflect, and truly pay attention to what’s around us.

This is a time to remember what lasts and what passes away.
